Editorial staff from Bellevue Literary Review, Black Hill Press, Southwest Review, the museum of americana, Los Angeles Lawyer, and Zoetrope: All-Story read their recent and prizewinning work. Followed by an informal Q&A on the publication process and the author-editor relationship. This Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Conference event is free and open to the public.

Suzanne McConnell, Fiction Editor, Bellevue Literary Review. Winner, 2015 New Ohio Review Fiction Contest, selected by Maud Casey. She is currently at work on a book of Kurt Vonnegut’s advice to writers.

Keith Kopka, poetry editor, The Southeast Review. Winner, 2015 New Ohio Review Poetry Contest, selected by Robert Pinsky.

Lilliam Rivera, contributing editor, 1888 Center’s Black Hill Press (novella press). Honorable Mention in 2014 Bellevue Literary Review for story “Death Defiant Bomba or What to Wear When Your Boo Gets Cancer,” selected by Nathan Englander

Eric Howard, editor, Los Angeles Lawyer (L.A. county’s monthly bar association magazine) and the anthology Squaw Valley Review. His poems have appeared in Wide Awake: Poets of Los Angeles and Beyond, Revolutionary Poets Brigade, and The Sun.

Thaïs Miller, reader-as-editor for Zoetrope: All-Story and One Story; author of a novel, Our Machinery, 2008, and short story collection, The Subconscious Mutiny and Other Stories 2009.

Lauren Alwan, prose editor, the museum of americana. Winner, 2016, Bellevue Literary Review’s Fiction Contest, “The Foreign Cinema,” judged by Paul Harding, forthcoming in spring 2016.
