Reading at VonnegutFest

So It Goes

Thaïs’s short story “Late Arrivals” was recently accepted for publication in the 7th issue of So It Goes, the literary magazine of the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library. She has been invited to read from her short story at VonnegutFest (the library’s annual festival to celebrate the work and life Kurt Vonnegut) on Saturday, November 10 at 12pm in the Frank and Katrina Basile Community Room at the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library (340 N. Senate Ave., Indianapolis, IN).

The event is free and open to the public and will be serving asterisk cookies from Lemon Tree Cookies.

Julian Casablancas, one of Thaïs’s favorite musicians of all time, designed the Spring 2018 Issue (Vol. 22, No. 1) of Francis Ford Coppola’s literary magazine, Zoetrope: All-Story, where Thaïs volunteers as an editorial reader.

This issue features the work of Jo Lloyd, Jim Shepard (one of Thaïs’s favorite writers), and Kathleen Alcott.

Bees of California: Art, Science, and Poetry

Thousands of bee species in North America are dying. To bring attention to this crisis and celebrate the bees of California, artists, scientists, and writers at the University of California, Santa Cruz collaborated to create Bees of California: Art, Science, and Poetry (SymbioStudio, 2018), a book of poetry, illustrations, ecological and taxonomic facts. Thaïs’s haiku is featured in this collection.
