Mapping Victorian Empires, Cultures, Identities, a four-day conference from May 13-16, 2019, explores mapping across a range of themes and cultural practices. This conference is co-hosted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Haifa, in collaboration with the University of California Dickens Project.

On Thursday, May 16 at 9:15am, Thaïs will be presenting original academic research on “Text and Territory: Reinterpreting History and Western Expansion in E. L. Doctorow’s Welcome to Hard Times” on the “Looking Back at the Victorians” panel.
